Popularly known as the Queen of Hills, Shimla is certainly one of the most popular hill stations in Himachal. Whether it's the bustling Mall Road that is dotted with shops, restaurants, and local eateries or the peaceful hamlet of Chadwick Falls or the ancient Jhakhoo Temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman, Shimla remains a popular vacation spot. Here, you can engage in camping, trekking, ice skating, paragliding, skiing, and white water rafting, among other things.Places to visit: Lakkar Bazaar, Mall Road, Jakhoo Temple, Christ Church, The Ridge342 km away from Delhi
  • Tirthan ValleyTirthan Valley is located in Kullu district, Himachal Pradesh. It is one of the two valleys in the town Banjar. The other valley is the Jibhi valley. The Tirthan valley is a 5-hour drive from Chandigarh and 9-hour from Delhi. Banjar is around 50km from Bhuntar Airport.
irthan Valley is a peaceful Himalayan destination in Himachal Pradesh, known for nature, hiking trails, trout-filled rivers, and eco-friendly village stays. Located next to the Great Himalayan National Park (UNESCO site), it suits both European and Indian travelers looking for quiet landscapes, forest walks, homestays, and authentic culture. Visitors can enjoy treks, waterfalls, birdwatching, trout fishing, and riverside relaxation. Our guide explains the best time to visit, how to reach Tirthan Valley, places to stay, and essential travel tips for planning your trip.
Nestled in the lap of the Western Himalayas, Tirthan Valley in Himachal Pradesh is often called the state’s best kept secret. Unlike the bustling tourist hubs of Shimla, Manali, or Dharamshala, Tirthan offers a quieter, more authentic Himalayan experience, where time seems to slow down and nature takes center stage.
The valley takes its name from the Tirthan River, which originates in Tirth, deep within the Great Himalayan National Park (GHNP), a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Flowing through forests and villages, the river finally merges with the Beas at Larji. Famous for its trout, the Tirthan is also surrounded by lush apple and apricot orchards that the Kullu region is known for.
But Tirthan is more than just a scenic escape. It is the perfect destination for those seeking a relaxed holiday close to nature, staying with warm-hearted locals in their homes, enjoying simple hospitality and delicious traditional meals. It is also the gateway to the GHNP, where unforgettable treks lead into pristine wilderness, snow-fed rivers, alpine meadows, and untouched forests alive with Himalayan wildlife.
Whether you wish to wander through orchards, sit by the riverside with a book, or embark on a life-changing trek in the Great Himalayan National Park, Tirthan Valley is a place where every traveler finds peace, inspiration, and connection.
  • ChandigarhChandigarh, a union territory that is the capital of both Punjab as well as Haryana, is an ideal definition of the word 'city'. With a culture that includes instances of both traditional Punjab as well as modernity, Chandigarh's food and gedi culture (a leisure drive or ride the city) is something that everyone knows of!Located at a distance of 265 km from Delhi, Chandigarh is one of the favourite weekend road trip destinations of Delhiites. Any tour of ''The City Beautiful'' needs to begin with boating at the beautiful Sukhna Lake. The other worth-visiting attractions in Chandigarh are the Rock Garden, and the Leisure Valley & Rose Garden. Chandigarh's Rock Garden is very well known for having been entirely designed out of discarded industrial and urban waste while the Leisure Valley is an 8-kilometre-long well-maintained park which houses Asia's most extensive rose garden, a very popular draw among tourists and locals alike. One of the most famous places to visit in Chandigarh is the Capitol complex, which is also often referred to as Le Corbusier Centre. Earlier used as Le Corbusier's base, this UNESCO World Heritage Site has now been converted into a museum, and tourists are free to visit it.
